ahh good times...next time I am not going to work during the weekend. I feel like I baked for three weeks, when i know in reality that isnt the case.

I am toying with the idea of going to Ptown for bear week. i dunno if i can handle all the bears in the sun for almost a week. heheh.

I promise to update more often since I met some new kids on here.

    Project Runway Madness
So as my good friends know I am a Project Runway fanatic...i mean, I am not just a fan of the show, i mean I am ridiculously hooked on this show...I have been since the first episode and cannot get enough...

In fact each week, i get together with my buds [info]meatybear, [info]murphy and [info]tombigbee420. We have a lil party and get together to watch all the fabulousness that is Project Runway...

So i guess i will talk about the current season...

    1. Laura - I fucking love this bitch. I mean, i dont think she is Top 3 material per se, but she's great and has had the best lines all season. She dont take no shit from no one. Plus who doesnt want a fur trimmed chanel-type suit with a exagerated collar?

    2. Kayne - Pretty good, not great. Definitely a gown designer.. he is fun to watch, but again, Top 3? hmm maybe, defintely Top 5 as long as he keeps his trap shut. You know that queen is ready to go wig to wig with Nina Garcia.

    3. Michael "Captain Save-a ho" Knight- hello mister man...this boy knows what he is doing. I think he is definitely a strong contender for the Top 3 and if can establish a definitive style then i think could take it all the way. The show has certainly positioned him that he would be successful regardless if he makes it or not.

    4. Angela - umm, really? I love to shove a Fleurschon up her nose.

    5. Vincent- Put me out of his misery.

    6. Robert- Oh Robert, you should ask Isaac Mizrahi for your old job back, cause even Barbie wont wear the crap you've created on the show.

    7. Jeffrey/The Neck- Hes Annoying..the clothes overall arent crap. His Madonna creation, well umm, well...crap. I did like his dress for the dog challenge though.

    8. Allison - I have a soft spot for this lady. She has definite talent and her construction is damn good. I dont know if she has the personal strength to make it to top3, but she is defintely in my Top 5.

    9. Uli- love her, but the flowy Miami multipattern halter dress is getting tired. C'mon Miss Munich 1992, bring it on home.

I cannot wait for the Garbage challenge tonight! gonna be good...

if you saw the "icon challenge" last week, then you'll appreciate this quote i found....

"When Tim told the ten models to go and pick their icon, they lunged at the table like he had just unveiled a cheeseburger flavored diet pill"

    mmmkay....

    mid year update
lol, so since I update my journal so often, I thought it was time for the mid-year update....

Well I am still in Chicago, and loving it here. This city is the best though I am still a Masshole through and through.

This has been the summer of gay and frankly, Im homo'd out. Between Bear Pride/IML, Pride, Shab's wedding, Market Days and the gay games, if I see another homo I might puke in rainbow colors!

I am fortunate to have made some really awesome friends here. shout outs to [info]jerbear7247 (one of my dopest biatches), Nathan, [info]meatybear, [info]murphy, Adam, [info]gatcat76, [info]cowboy_deluxe... People are quite friendly and have more than often welcomed me with open arm and other appendages...

Romantically its been an odd year truly, but a lady reveals nothing.

I am moving to Andersonville in a few weeks and words cannot accurately express my excitement about it. Its going to be great to have my commute cut in half and be able to hang with my friends whenever I want...no more damn brown line!

Ed, one of my best friends from Boston, is now here which is really great. I like having someone around that knows literally everything about me. No need to go into back story...Infact, Ed and I just use telepathy half the time to communicate.

I am taking an unexpected journey back to boston in a few weeks as well for a certain person's bday. Its a surprise though..ssshhh.. ;-)

    ahh good times
So i know I havent updated in forever and a day, and frankly there is too much for me to catch people up on...so i'll try to give a reader's digest version.

Im still in chicago. I feel like I am finally getting somewhere in my transition. it has not been easy. i still have a ton of insecurities but they are subsiding slowly but surely. I have started to make some good friends here too. its taken some time, but I feel like i have a few people in my life now that I can trust.

i definitely underestimated the social connections in this town. Its seems like everyone knows eachother or at least they all know eachother's business. I blame the internet. big city, small town feel. yeah, whatever.

im off to miami tomorrow. I cannot friggin wait. I so need a vacation where all I do is sip frozen cocktails with tiny umbrellas while stretched out on a lounge chair by a pool. thank god its finally happening!

    more later!

in the city of bears and white sox
    so i moved.

yes its official. I left boston a month ago and moved my stuff ala Alice to the Windy City.

I dont know how Windy it is, but I'm here.

    so first impressions...

    1) People are really nice and they dont ask you what you do for a living when you move here.

    2) Ghosts are everywhere. I got scared shitless the other night when i ran into an old ghose from Boston. damn, he looked good.

    3) they do love burritos and taqueria's. They seem to be on every corner.

4)as my friend Ed told me...

"Drama is like cheap vodka, it is everywhere. But one does not neeed to order it, in fact one is wise to not do so, and if by chance another offers you cheap vodka you are not obligated to drink it."

Theres ALOT of cheap vodka in this town and I am not thirsty...

    5) Men are built bigger here, which as far as I am concerned is a big big plus.

The greatest thing about being in a new city and meeting new people is that if you are self-assured then you can weed through what you want without feeling the guilt of it. No obligations. I have met lots of interesting people, its just time to categorize where they fall in my life. Its an interesting process, makes me feel like I am 22 again.

    oy, to be 22 again.

    i danced on the bar
last night was the biggest night at the restaraunt I have ever experienced. It was so busy that I dont even know if I remembered serving most of teh people that i did serve. Tonight should be just as crazy or so they tell me. I made an obscene amount of money! Thank god, I had been getting really nervous about my ability to move lately. This past week was not so great at the restaraunt and the hotel cut hours, bastards...

    i need to snuggle

    most people thought i died
    gee where to even begin...

I havent updated in a year and my life has changed fairly drastically since my last update...

first off, I am no longer in boston. I am now on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard working for a hotel. I am raising funds for my move to chicago november 1. Hopefully it'll all work out.

My sister got married this past weekend. God bless em. The wedding was a lot of fun actually. I went with Michael. (hes the guy i have been with kinda sorta for about a year and a half now) I figured he'd paid his dues this past year in order for him to earn a place at the buffet and open bar. I have to say I did have an epiphany. I realized I just dont care anymore about my family's opinion of myself. We were dancing on the parch to 'At Last' by Etta James (best song ever). I had us dancing not on the main dance floor as to not upset my family, but after the first stanza and looking him in the eye, i said "fuck it". I love Michael, always have. He drives me insane and we are probably not well-suited for eachother, but i have never been ashamed of him. I shouldnt start now. I grabbed him and danced with him ont eh dance floor in front of everyone. It was a surreal feeling, but wonderful. kinda like the last scene in "beautiful thing"...

on another note, I had a heart attack this past year. well technically, i had three small heart attacks. i was in the hospital for about two weeks while they figured out what was wrong with me. I mean, I was 28. heart attack isnt at the top of any doctors list at that age. I had a stent put in, i feel great. I am on meds and excerciseand watch what I eat. I quit smoking cold turkey. I have to admit I dont talk about that accomplishment as much as I should. I LOVED LOVED LOVED smoking. i hated giving it up, but death by nicotine? nah.

The biggest thing i learned was just not to sweat the small stuff. Its just not worth it. Oh and life is too short. i never thought i would result to cliches, but they are strangely true. oy!

    dang I am bad..
so heres the latest and greatest in a nut shell...

i am the worst LJ owner in the world, yes yes I know...

I have been here at the hotel now for about two months and i have to admit I do really like working here. Its alot of fun. The only drawback is that my social life is all messed up. I dont see my friends as often as I would like, but thats the sacrifice.

Kelly moved up to Haverhill. god bless him. hes up there now to start save up for the move next spring. woo hoo!

home life has been trying lately. I think that its time for me to move on, but I am not exactly sure where i am gonna go...hmm, nothing pressing but i think its time...

i saw Michael again for the first time in a long time. it was really great to see him. hes been on the brain for awhile and well, i dunno. argh fucking men!

Nana and Zadie are in the middle of a hurricane...i hope they will be ok...

    Ok I know I am a slacker...
Ok, I havent updated my journal in eons, so heres the latest and greatest in the world of Hal...

I have started my new job at the hotel and its going really well. Tonight is my first night alone and except for a few bumps in the road, everything is going ok...No major catastrophes, well yet...knock on wood...The DNC was in town so that took up most of my time.

The only thing that stinks is that I dont have any email or messenger access here, but c'est la vie...I'll live.

Ooh Charles and I did go to the Convention on Thursday night and saw John Kerry speak. I love politics and I have to admit it was quite amazing being there. We were on the convention floor right next to the TN delegation. Steven Colbert was anchored right near us for most of the night. I have been skeptical of the Kerry nomination since it was solidified cause I never found him convincing (what were his ideas?), but after the speech I have concluded that he could be an excellent POTUS. it inspired me to travel to all the swing states and beg people to vote for him. Go Kerry!

Another note from the convention, Gen. Wesley Clark gave an incredible speech. Probably the most energizing of the night except for Kerry... Oh and apparently Charles and I were on TV at some point...

I am finally back home from housesitting at Bill and Charles'. I will admit its nice being home again, but I do miss being in the city. i am so torn...blech...

    More fun later...

    Mmm Bagel sandwich lovin.
Ahh, yummy. Finagle a Bagel is the best.

As I am sitting here thinking about my wrapping up shit here at the office, I have decided that I dont want to do any of it. They are payign me to, so I mine as well. My replacement will be joining me for Thursday and Friday. I dont know what to really show him. Hes going to be bored as all get out. God bless him.

i lugged all my shit in this morning on the train. I swear, packing for ten days is not easy. I had to actually choose which shoes (my children) to leace behind since I wont actually be home until the 31st or so. Damn Convention!

I am starting my housesitting this evening after Charles had his review. I know he is so stressed about it. I hope he does well. Hes a great architect and will do his best. I am going to get him drunk afterwards. He needs it.

Nick came by last night and he reminded me of my times living in Martha Vineyard. What a fun time. Jesse and I living in the bunk house, what a nightmare!

    Happenings...
ok, I know I havent posted in ages, so here goes with the latest and greatest..

I got a the job at the Hotel, which I am very excited about I must admit. I gave my notice here at the consulting firm and my last day is Friday! Though I ahve enjoyed my brief time here its time to move on. I think this will be a good move for me. Entering a new field, new job, new hours...good times.

I start housesitting this week in Cambridge which I am also very excited about. I am going to go see the boys (www.bgmc.org) at a joint concert with the SFGMC. It should be fun, I havent seen them sing in awhile. Actually since last Christmas...Ed is going to rejoin this fall. I am thinking about it, but I am not so sure I want to make that commitment again.

So I had lunch with a really nice guy (folkyboy) yesterday. Well not so much lunch, as we walked around the Garden...It was nice to meet someone new and not completely immersed in the Boston scene yet. Give him time though...;-)

and to answer his question, Sure I will.

    Interview CIty
i know I havent updated in afew days so heres the latest and greatest in the world of Hal...

last night I went to dinner with Nick,I love him. We went for sushi and it was good, except for the service kinda sucked. oh well, thank god nick and i can talk for a long period of time. ;-)

I had two interviews yesterday..both went well..well kinda

the first job I dont want. in fact a rusty spoon gouging my eyes out would be more appealing. They dont really know what the person would be doing since its a new position. I have worked in startups before and have vreated my jobs in both places. It can be great, but initially its alot of begging for work. I am not so sure thats something that I want to do at this point.

the second job is with XV Beacon (www.xvbeacon.com), its a pretty swank hotel. I am really interested in this job actually. Its for an Overnight Asst Mgr. Yes, overnights are nt the msot appealing, but honestly, I think it could be really good for me. I want to make a career change and get into hospitality. I am told I give great service.

The second job called me this morning to get me in for a second interview today. I am not exactly dressed for it, but they are aware and dont care. Thats a good sign, no?

    Big Bang
    Ahh God Bless America...

This weekend was alot of fun actually..

Friday night- I had Michael over. Hes a good man. We watched "Die Mommy Die" very funny..very over the top...although I dont believe that Jason Priestly would ever have an 11" cock..

Saturday- Michael went home god bless him. I watched "In America"...ugh why do I watch things that are going to make me ball like the little girl I long to be! Oh and I bought the Avenue Q soundtrack...brilliant!

Went to Kellys on Friday night and we drank some version of a flirtini...I dont know..I drank way too much with him on the balcony...it was not a pretty Sunday morning thats for sure..

Sunday...Went to Bill and Charles' cabana and layed out at the pool with the boys. I am little burnt but not too bad. The hair of the dog made me feel better..We stopped by the Alley before heading off to Tim and Ricardos..the roof deck is the best place in Boston to watch the Fireworks..literally in front of the barge..Its such an odd experience to see the fireworks in front of you instead of above you and the weather could not have been more perfect.

Monday- Recovery...Watch "party monster" movie about the club kids starring mackully culkin...Seth Green was pretty awesome..movie was just ok..

    You dont bring me flowers...
Ahh its thursday and I am a happy camper. the firm i am working for has Friday and Monday off for the holiday weekend. I am very excited about this. I think I am off to Tims this weekend for his 4th cookout/fireworks. I think I am going to bring some form of dessert to the festivities. I need to confirm all of this though...*makes mental note*...

I also have dinner plans tonight with Michael. Hes the guy I have been kinda sorta dating recently. Wonderful guy, but needs to get his life together before anything serious can really happen between us. I dont know...ugh...boys stink sometimes.

I am unsure of what to do about him. I really like him a lot and when things are good they are great, but when I get annoyed with him, which seems to inevitably happen, I want to strangle him.

oh well, more work to be done..Have a happy 4th y'all.

    Ahh good times
Good morning to the one or two people who actually read my journal...

I had a wonderful evening last night with my darlin friends Bill and Charles. I was leaving work when Bill called to invite me over for dinner al fresco on the roofdeck. It was such a beautiful night.

The weater last night was one of the few reasons why I wouldnt consider moving out of Boston. It was clear, no humidity, warm and not buggy at all. Of course, I then remembered that was the one day of the year that it actually is like that. So watch out Chicago, here I come! (well soon anyways)

Still thinking about that damn boy..oh well..soon enough I guess..

You cant lead a water to a horse...
    Ahh President Bush...

So I saw Michael Moore's Faranheit 9/11 the other night. To be honest, I loved it, but that shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone who knows me.

What I have really enjoyed though is finally there is an actual honest debate about the state of affairs in this country. For far too long people have been unable to speak about how they feel without fear of intimidation. Its about time. Agree or disagree with the film, its stirring emotions and beginning to show signs of serious debate.

Isnt that what this country should be about?

Ok, enough of my soapbox and political rantings...*phew*

Oh btw, I have such a crush right now. too bad it lives in another state.

    First posting..Chipmunk alert
You know I dont actually know anyone who is going to read this (except for Tom..grr woof!) , so I might as well be honest!

Well lets see, i am working today and its fairly boring, not much particularly going on.

One of the really exciting thigns that happened this weekend was that a chipmunk made its way into my apartment. They guy who cleaned my furnace didnt shut the vent when he finished..bastard!

After much attempt to get it out, it refused to vacate, so i had to take things into my own hands.

Alvin, as I have named him, as moved on to chipmunk heaven. God bless Alvin, wherever you are.
